The reactions brought about during a reflexology treatment activate the body’s own healing ability. Part of this healing involves the expulsion of the accumulated toxins from the body, which may cause: Physical Reactions such as:
  • smelly urine/faeces,
  • aggravated skin conditions,
  • runny nose, sneezing or coughing often accompanied by phlegm,
  • change in sleeping patterns-often for the better
  • dizziness or nausea
  • fevers/colds/flu like symptoms
  • Temporary increase or worsening of existing symptoms

Emotional Reactions such as

  • laughing
  • lightness/uplifted and wellness
  • tiredness/headaches /feeling low/no energy


  • To help minimize the physical effects , drink plenty of water and reduce tea, coffee, sugar and meat as much as possible.
  • Eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables-preferably grown locally.
  • Get out into the fresh air and go for brisk walks.
  • Start practising your smile, try it out on strangers and watch what happens!!!
  • Go to funny movies/shows and laugh out loud.
  • As far as possible avoid negative people and if you must engage protect yourself in a golden dome of light.
  • Never forget help is at hand in the form of a friendly ear, remembering to choose wisely who you share your thoughts with.
  • Never underestimate the power of prayer whomsoever you conceive your God to be.
  • Take plenty of warm oat baths, rest and get as much sleep as possible.
